How Much Freezer Space Do I Need?

A good rule of thumb is one cubic foot for every 30-35 lbs of frozen meat.

  • 1/8th Beef (40 pounds): Approximately 2 cubic feet

  • 1/4 Beef (80 pounds): Approximately 4 cubic feet

  • 1/2 Beef (160 pounds): Approximately 8 cubic feet

  • Whole Beef (320 pounds): Approximately 16 cubic feet

To put it in perspective, a standard upright or chest freezer typically ranges from 10 to 25 cubic feet, so make sure you’re prepared to store your premium beef bundle properly.
